Y-Not STOP Hunger: 16,100 jars of Peanut Butter delivered to the Food Bank of Central Louisiana

Corporate Works of Mercy, founded by St. Romain Oil & Y-Not Stop, has delivered 16,100 jars of Peanut Butter to the Food Bank of Central Louisiana, located in Alexandria.

Since 2013, Corporate Works of Mercy Foundation's annual Y-Not STOP Hunger Drive raises awareness, funds and peanut butter for local families in need in partnership with food banks.

The goal of Corporate Works of Mercy's efforts is to aid local people in the communities that the Y-Not Stop stores serve. The Food Bank of Central Louisiana serves Avoyelles, Rapides & Catahoula parishes, where majority of Y-Not Stop stores are located. The peanut butter donation will be used to support the Food Bank’s Children’s Back Pack Program and Adopt A Senior Program.

Y Peanut Butter?

  • It's kid friendly

  • It's a great source of fiber, protein and nutrients

  • It has a long shelf life

  • It doesn't require any special storage or cooking

  • One jar can provide several meals for a hungry family (Approx. 16 Sandwiches)

  • It can be used by the homeless or those without electricity

We would like to offer a special thanks to Sam and the team at Harvest Foods of Marksville for coordinating our massive order of 27 pallets of peanut butter, as they have graciously done over the last several years. Harvest Foods has also donated a pallet of peanut butter to support the cause! We appreciate their support in feeding the hungry!

The Corporal Works of Mercy instructs us to feed the hungry, which is exactly what the Food Bank of Cenla does every day. Learn more about the Food Bank of CenLa and their programs here: www.fbcenla.org
